This may amaze people, but I was a shy, quiet child, and quite a nerd. Then I came to the greatest university in the state, BYU, where I had some freakishly weird roommates. I am so old that when I attended BYU we won every football game by at least 50 points. Those were the days! I was a professional student and graduated after about 30 semesters.
Prior to working at BCI I enjoyed careers in the pizza industry, sanitation management, phone surveys for statistical research, and customer relations in the supermarket sector. While at BCI I’ve worked in the records section, firearms, and Field Services. My favorite moment at BCI was getting a sex offender arrested when he tried to buy a gun. My least favorite moment was meeting Rod Decker. (He won’t be coming in our building this month, will he?)
I’ve been married to my first husband, Sam, for 10 and a half years. We have no children, which will improve the earth’s gene pool. We have a cat and two birds, one of which is a psycho-nutcase who would be locked up somewhere if he were human. Sam’s hobbies are gardening, botany, and other nerd-related activities.
I enjoy photography, although I am no good at it. I also enjoy traveling around remote little places in Utah, genealogy, zombies, reading, sarcastic inside jokes, the music of Mwk and related artists, and being a boring person in general. My turn-offs include the Oakland Raiders, trendy baby names, celebutards, Disneyland, “air quotes,” bad grammar, and reality TV. You may or may not believe this, but I actually control what goes on in the NFL. It’s true!
The craziest thing I ever did involved a poll. If “anyone” in this organization divulges the nature of the poll, “that person” may want to remember that I have embarrassing photographs.
In no way do I actually deserve being named Employee of the Month, and I think it may be a practical joke. But stay out of my parking spot!
I also want to say thank-you to my awesome co-workers in Field Services. With one exception, you are all fantastic to work with!Shaunahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04293809411664782060noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225905972219003778.post-18682076666200094092009-06-15T13:10:00.001-07:002009-06-15T13:12:09.225-07:00

I have a personal grudge with Gary Larson at the moment. I feel like it is a lot like our group.

Like the tree, we are all alone in the world, but we are surrounded by the rainbow (not in the gay sense) of love and support from our family and friends. We have come a long way down our road, but we still have a long way to go. And like the picture, we are approaching the autumn of our years. Although our leaves may change color and our branches may droop, we still stand strong, surrounded by our loved ones.Rockyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18326589621358230139noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225905972219003778.post-35461565461400480352008-11-18T12:10:00.000-08:002008-11-18T12:26:23.289-08:00An Evening at the Asian StarFirst, we wish to say we greatly missed Debbie and Roxane. Roxane had a family function to attend, and Debbie had to send out the e-mail stating that Roxane had a family function.

Annette, Amy, Shauna and I all enjoyed the Punctuality Tax, which was delicious, and the waiter was more than accomodating. The whole thing would have gone off without a hitch if someone (name might rhyme with Nannette) hadn't spilled the beans at the end of the evening.

Dinner was family style, and everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and loved ones.

During the evening we learned that Annette recently went to Disneyland with her nephews, Shauna has a tattooed teenager, most people are just going back to their hometowns for Thanksgiving, Shauna went to Jerome a couple of weeks ago (woohoo!), and Cloe and Ellen enjoy mocking Leslie's native country. Also, Celine Dion has postponed her upcoming concert, which is the type of flaky behavior you can expect from a Canadian. Shauna and I were upset to hear our hair salon just closed down. If you know of a good place, let us know. Oh - Annette once had a roommate who thought "Ground Chuck" was actually made of Woodchuck meat.

The Battle of the Worst Fortunes came down to a heated contest between Leslie and Annette. Annette was voted the winner because her fortune told her not to expect much from people. She got the luxury of getting a second fortune, which said something about reading good books. We suggest something by Maya Angelou.

We also discussed this blog, AND SOME OF YOU STILL HAVEN'T READ IT YET. Shameful!

Deciding when to hold December's dinner was as involved and complicated as a global environmental summit. I think we ultimately decided on December 22 at Annette's. She better not expect much from us.

If I forgot anything please feel free to update or correct as necessary.Yohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08964135281836377297noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225905972219003778.post-68547907377319145302008-11-13T17:48:00.000-08:002008-11-13T17:50:44.208-08:00Helloooo...I was just wondering if the women of EDG might be interested in doing a sub for santa? Tomorrow I'll be doing some fascinating presentations on Disposition Posting Reports and how to read and understand them. Just think Debbie, if you still worked for the AOC you would probably be there also.

In the middle of the table we heard half of each conversation. Cloe related a truly miraculous story of how her $80 sunglasses were found after being lost on the JetStar2 at Lagoon. That lead to the question - was there ever a JetStar1?

Ellen will be doing some SPEED DATING on Halloween. We wondered what happens if more men show up than women - or vice versa. Good luck Ellen! Hope you get a treat and not a trick! Ha ha! That's some Halloween humor.

Ellen and Sam are very distantly related by marriage. There's a Sowards in Manassa, Colorado who married a woman who's related to the Deckers, and she has a lot of photos and stuff, so you'd think I'd pursue that and get some information.

Amy said some of her former classmates have some very interesting things on MySpace. She didn't elaborate, which I found suspicuous. We also enjoyed the "old man smell" and the "toxic chemical" stories.

Shauna wants out of Young Women. Let's hope her Bishop reads this!

Seacrest out.Yohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08964135281836377297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225905972219003778.post-85629769649476366912008-10-22T08:52:00.000-07:002008-10-22T08:54:05.785-07:00

Hello darlings! In attendance were Debbie, Leslie, Shauna, Adrienne, Cloe, Annette, Amy, Debbie and me. Leatherby's was pretty busy and noisy, so I could only hear Leslie and Debbie, and Shauna and Amy but only when they turned their heads towards my side of the table. So my recollections will only include what was said by Leslie and Debbie, and part of what was said by Shauna and Amy, on account of I didn't hear anybody else. Amy recounted a near trauma during her recent visit to her father's house, when she thought the house smelled like "old man." Turns out it was just some fish that her father had cooked before Amy got to the house. Then there was some conversation about whether old men and fish smelled the same. This issue was left unresolved. Amy also brought us up to date on her mother's hazardous waste collection, which has now been moved out of the house. Debbie and Leslie and I discussed the newly announced Calgary temple with Leslie. Debbie thought that the Cardston temple was near Calgary, but according to Leslie it is about 3 hours away, as is the Edmonton temple. Leslie and I discussed her sister's dogs, as I always enjoy talking about dogs. At one point near the end of the dinner Debbie was so full that she thought aloud that she might hurl. Shauna thought that this might make a good picture for the blog, but the hurl did not occur so no picture was taken. I took a video of the entire group with my cell phone but my cell phone videos are not of very good quality. When leaving we saw two people that we knew not of the dinner group. It was a busy night at Leatherby's.
Shaunahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04293809411664782060noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225905972219003778.post-1592703144565385312008-10-21T17:29:00.000-07:002008-10-21T17:57:12.069-07:00This is a New Beginning!EDGinc...The chosen women of Winder 14th has a blog! We have been friends for many years and the Emeritus Dinner Group (EDG) have been meeting each month (with some gaps but none of late) since November of 1997. Originally it was just 4 but has bloomed to be many more!

This blog will be used to keep up-to-date happenings in our lives--if you so wish to share. Also, members that are no longer geographically here (but always in our hearts) can stay in the know as well.

You can send me pictures and words for now until we work out how we can all do this.Shaunahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04293809411664782060noreply@blogger.com0
